The Foundation

was founded in 1921 in Gotha as a humanitarian organisation on a diplomatic basis. Its aim was and still is the promotion of political solutions in intercultural and binational conflicts as well as the fast material support of victims of such conflicts.

Today the foundation is present at nearly all international trouble hotspots: in Palestine, in Cashmere and in Northern Ireland.

We also take part in the governmental restructuring of Afghanistan. Friedenstein is known for its political independance and follows its ambition for social justice

The foundation is fully financed by donations and the dividends of the founder’s companies.
